Nine dead in separate road accidents in Northern India

KATHMANDU: At least nine people have lost their lives and several others sustained injuries in two separate road accidents reported from northern India on Saturday, according to local police.
The first incident occurred on a highway in the northern state of Haryana, where a speeding truck rammed into a group of sanitation workers.
Seven people were killed on the spot, while two others were critically injured and are currently undergoing treatment.
In a separate tragedy in Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh, a high-speed car struck a group of people sitting outside their home.
The accident claimed the lives of a mother and her daughter, while five others sustained injuries, some of them serious.
Authorities have launched investigations into both incidents.
Local residents and officials have expressed concerns over rising cases of reckless driving, calling for stricter enforcement of traffic laws and improved road safety measures.
