KATHMANDU: inDrive, the global mobility and urban services platform, recently launched a meaningful initiative in Nepal titled “The Better Drive: Initiative — Money, Mind, Manner,” aimed at empowering its driver partners and strengthening community ties.

The event brought together drivers, media representatives, and industry experts for a day of learning, growth, and inspiration — all centred around building a safer, more respectful, and professional ride-hailing environment.

With a strong focus on the human side of mobility, the initiative spotlighted four key pillars: financial literacy, road safety, mental wellness, and service excellence — each vital to shaping a high-quality driver and rider experience.

A Holistic Approach to Driver Well-being

Experts from across sectors led interactive sessions designed to equip drivers with real-life skills and insights. Representatives from the Traffic Police delivered an eye-opening discussion on safe driving practices and the importance of adhering to traffic laws to reduce accidents and promote responsible driving.

Sanjeev Neupane, Chief Growth Officer at IME Pay, offered practical guidance on financial planning and money management, empowering drivers to secure long-term financial well-being. Mental health advocate and Happy Minds founder, Shreeya Giri, opened an important conversation about emotional wellness and stress management — emphasizing that mental strength is just as important as physical safety on the road.

Adding a motivational touch, renowned speaker Ranjit Acharya encouraged drivers to elevate their hospitality and communication skills, reminding them that a kind word or a courteous gesture can transform a ride into a memorable experience.

Fair Pricing, Real Impact

The event also highlighted inDrive’s unique approach to ride pricing, which is based on a fair, peer-to-peer negotiation model — giving both drivers and riders more control. Attendees got a sneak peek into upcoming initiatives that focus on community development and driver support programs, reinforcing inDrive’s promise of shared progress.

A Message of Commitment

Speaking at the event, Mark Tolley, Regional Director for APAC at inDrive, shared, “At inDrive, we’re committed to more than just moving people from one place to another. We want to uplift our driver partners by investing in their skills, their well-being, and their futures. This initiative is part of our ongoing journey to create a mobility ecosystem that is safe, inclusive, and empowering for everyone.”

Driving Forward Together

With “The Better Drive: Initiative — Money, Mind, Manner,” inDrive is setting new benchmarks in driver engagement in Nepal — not only by providing income opportunities but also by building a strong, values-driven community.
