Runaway marble truck crashes into hotels in Daunne, causes major damage
The truck slammed into the Dhaulagiri Hotel & Lodge, completely destroying the structure, and caused partial damage to the nearby Pawan Hotel.

KATHMANDU: A marble-laden truck lost control and crashed into two hotels in Daunne Bazaar under the East-West Highway, causing significant damage early this morning.
The incident occurred around 8 AM in Binay Triveni Rural Municipality–2, when truck number Na 5 Kha 8671 suffered brake failure while passing through the busy market area.
The truck slammed into the Dhaulagiri Hotel & Lodge, completely destroying the structure, and caused partial damage to the nearby Pawan Hotel.
According to police, the Dhaulagiri Hotel, operated by Binanath Padhya, was completely demolished, while the Pawan Hotel, run by Pawan Lamsal, sustained moderate damage.
Fortunately, there were no guests in either hotel at the time of the crash, and both owners managed to escape unharmed.
Police have taken the truck and its driver into custody for further investigation.
