72-year-old man dies under suspicious circumstances
According to police, Kumal was reportedly asleep when two unidentified individuals allegedly entered the house and strangled him around 12:30 AM.
KATHMANDU: A 72-year-old man, Meen Bahadur Kumal, was found dead under suspicious circumstances at his residence in Tumlingtar, Khandbari Municipality–9, early Sunday morning.
According to police, Kumal was reportedly asleep when two unidentified individuals allegedly entered the house and strangled him around 12:30 AM.
His wife, who was present at the scene, informed the authorities that the assailants were unknown and had forcibly entered their home.
After the incident, neighbors gathered at the residence, only to find Kumal had already passed away.
Inspector Ram Kumar Lamichhane confirmed that due to the suspicious nature of the death, police have begun searching for possible suspects at all exit points and are conducting thorough interrogations.
Police also stated that a trained sniffer dog will be brought in to assist in the investigation.
The deceased belonged to a modest family and lived with his wife in their home.
Authorities say the investigation is ongoing.
