HoR convenes today with key legislative agenda

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the House of Representatives under the Federal Parliament is scheduled to take place today at 11:00 AM. Several crucial legislative items are set to be presented during the session, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

Santosh Chalise, Chairperson of the Finance Committee, is scheduled to table the committee’s report on the Customs Bill, 2081.

Similarly, Bimala Subedi, Chairperson of the Law, Justice and Human Rights Committee, will present the report on the Bill to Amend Certain Nepal Acts, 2081.

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, is expected to table the Nepal Aviation Service Authority Bill, 2081, as per the tentative agenda.

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Ajay Kumar Chaurasiya, will propose sending the Nepal Bar Council (Second Amendment) Bill, 2081 to the concerned committee for clause-wise discussion.

In addition, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel will propose deliberation on the amendments made by the National Assembly to the Banking Offenses and Punishment (Second Amendment) Bill, 2080.

The meeting is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing key legal and financial reforms under consideration in the Federal Parliament.
