Democracy at risk due to failures of those in power: KC
Speaking at Friday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, KC criticized the ruling parties for failing to uphold agreements made during difficult times.

KATHMANDU: Rastriya Janamorcha Chairman Chitra Bahadur KC has said that democracy is under threat due to the weaknesses of those currently in power.
Speaking at Friday’s meeting of the House of Representatives, KC criticized the ruling parties for failing to uphold agreements made during difficult times.
He said the tendency to make promises without implementation has endangered the democratic system.
KC stressed that the increasing attacks on democracy and republicanism must be addressed collectively by all political parties.
He remarked that those in power are themselves engaged in corruption and anti-system activities, making it impossible to convince the public of their sincerity.
Highlighting ongoing hardships, KC pointed out that in some districts, people still have to pay Rs. 20 just to cross a bamboo bridge. “Is this the Switzerland you promised through federalism?” he asked, questioning the government’s commitment to development.
