KATHMANDU: Foreign Minister Arzu Rana Deuba has dismissed rumors of a possible change in government, calling them nothing more than entertainment.
Speaking upon her return from Bangkok, Thailand, Minister Rana said the speculations were baseless.
“These are just rumors. When things go quiet for a while, such news pops up just for entertainment,” she stated. “Changing the government is something that would have to be done within the country, not from abroad. We were surprised ourselves after seeing the news.”
She also informed that Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had a phone conversation yesterday while she was still in Bangkok.
Minister Rana clarified that Deuba’s visit to Bangkok was purely personal. “It was a health check-up, some tea, and a personal trip—there were no political meetings involved,” she said.
