Five injured in vehicle accident in Salyan
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
KATHMANDU: At least five people were injured when a Force vehicle met with an accident along the Rapti Highway near Dharapani, Bagchaur Municipality-5, on Friday morning around 10 AM.
According to District Police Office Salyan, the vehicle (Lu 2 Kha 6271) was en route from Rukum West to Tulsipur, Dang, when it lost control and crashed on the road.
Inspector Resham Bahadur Khatri identified the injured as Dammar BK, 42, of Musikot Municipality-12; Harka Bahadur BK, 22, and Lokendra KC, 30, of Chaurjahari Municipality-14; Hitesi Khadka, 20, and Kapil Khadka, 7, of Tribeni Rural Municipality-8 — all from Rukum West.
All five injured were rescued immediately by locals, transport workers, and police and rushed to Sajil Polyclinic in Bagchaur for treatment. All are currently undergoing care there, according to Inspector Khatri.
The vehicle was carrying 13 passengers at the time of the accident. Police say the driver, Indra Oli, 35, of Bagchaur Municipality-4, fled the scene and is currently at large.
