Passenger bus catches fire, no injuries reported

KATHMANDU: A passenger bus caught fire while in motion at Dhunge Adda, Kathmandu, on its route from Kalanki to Thankot.

The bus, belonging to Panchpokhari Yatayat and bearing the number plate 9786, was completely destroyed in the incident.

Fortunately, all passengers managed to escape safely and no injuries have been reported.

According to police, the fire started suddenly in the engine, prompting panic among the passengers who quickly evacuated the vehicle.

Due to timely precautions, there was no human casualty.

The fire was brought under control with the help of Chandragiri Municipality’s fire brigade, water tankers, police, and local residents.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the blaze.
