Woman killed, man injured in bus-bike collision in Morang

KATHMANDU: A woman has died and a man has been critically injured in a bus collision in Morang.
The incident occurred in Kanepokhari Rural Municipality-7, where a Gorkha Transport passenger bus (Ko 1 Kha 7482) collided with a motorcycle (Sa 4 Pa 5841).
The woman, identified as Kumari Acharya, approximately 55 years old from Belaka Municipality-4, Udayapur, was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle and died at the scene.
The motorcycle rider, Hari Sharma, 35, from Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-4, sustained severe injuries and has been sent to Biratnagar for treatment.
According to the police, the deceased and the injured are siblings.
The bus driver, Sumanlal Chaudhary, 51, from Kankai Municipality-4, Jhapa, has been arrested, and further investigations are ongoing.
