KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives Devraj Ghimire is set to hold a crucial meeting with chief whips of major parties ahead of the upcoming federal parliament session.

The discussion will focus on the smooth operation of the House and key agendas of the new session, scheduled to begin on Baisakh 12.

The meeting is expected to cover the parliamentary calendar and priority legislative agendas for the session.

As per the constitutional mandate, the national budget must be presented on Jestha 15, necessitating organized pre-budget preparations in parliament.

Discussions will also center around pre-budget deliberations and the presentation of the government’s policies and programs.

This year, the government plans to unveil its policies and programs before the pre-budget discussions, reversing the usual order.

Key bills, including the School Education Bill and the Federal Civil Service Bill, are slated for passage during this session.

Several other important bills are also in the pipeline, set to move forward through the parliamentary process.
