Prachanda stresses communist unity, slams current govt. as undemocratic
Dahal urged all revolutionary forces to engage in dialogue and debate, aiming to advance the journey toward a socialist revolution based on sound ideology and centralized unity.

KATHMANDU: Chair of CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, has reiterated his commitment to uniting revolutionary communist forces in Nepal.
Speaking at an event in Kathmandu on Tuesday, organized to mark the 77th anniversary of the Communist Party of Nepal and the 156th birth anniversary of Vladimir Lenin, Dahal said he has not given up efforts to bring together revolutionary communists under one banner.
“We have not abandoned the banner of unity within the communist movement,” he said, emphasizing that he remains committed to fostering solidarity among revolutionary forces.
Although previous efforts to unite Nepal’s broader communist movement have been unsuccessful, Dahal urged all revolutionary forces to engage in dialogue and debate, aiming to advance the journey toward a socialist revolution based on sound ideology and centralized unity.
Calling for collective discussions, he said, “Let us come together in dialogue and debate to identify the correct ideological path and move forward with a unified and centralized mission for a socialist transformation.”
Dahal also repeated his criticism of the current government, calling it unnatural, undemocratic, non-transparent, and unconstitutional.
He alleged that the administration was formed to shield corrupt individuals and has failed to maintain its legitimacy.
“We have said before—the government under KP Oli’s leadership was born through an unnatural, undemocratic, and opaque process,” he stated. “This government protects the corrupt, punishes those who perform well, and blindly shelters its loyalists. It has completely lost its moral and political legitimacy to remain in power.”
He further asserted that Nepal’s political situation has reached a critical and complex phase, posing significant challenges to the country’s democratic future.
