Energy Ministers of Nepal & India inspect 900 MW Arun-lll Hydropower Project

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka, and India’s Minister of Power, Manohar Lal Khattar, jointly inspected the under-construction 900 MW Arun-3 Hydropower Project in Makalu Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha on Tuesday.
Reaching at the dam site via an army helicopter, the ministers reviewed the physical progress of the project, including tunnel works and other ongoing construction activities.

The Arun-3 project, being developed with Indian investment, is a significant step in Nepal-India energy cooperation and is expected to play a vital role in regional power trade upon completion.
