KATHMANDU: Ghanshyam Bhusal, General Secretary of CPN (Unified Socialist), has accused the CPN (Maoist Centre) of being unable to detach itself from the lure of power.

Speaking critically, Bhusal claimed the Maoist Centre now supports replacing the current government with one led by the Nepali Congress.

“They call themselves Maoists, but what is Maoism? They can’t even define it. It’s all about saying one thing and doing another,” he remarked, accusing the party of having no clear ideological direction.

Bhusal further questioned whether bringing the Congress to power would truly solve the country’s problems. “Is this Congress leadership capable of delivering solutions?” he asked, calling the party unfit to lead.

He also criticized the Maoists for claiming exclusive ownership of the republic. “They say they brought the republic, so only they should benefit from it. That mindset cannot build a nation,” he said. “Their logic is flawed — they’re on a Madhes tour but keeping an eye on Kathmandu.”

Bhusal concluded by calling for responsible leadership and principled politics, warning that opportunism will only deepen the country’s challenges.
