Kalikot tractor mishap: Cremation held for four victims
The accident occurred when a tractor transporting groceries and food items from Thirpu in Palata-9 to Chhallaha skidded off the road at Raduneta, Larfaa.

KATHMANDU: The bodies of four individuals who died in a tractor accident in Kalikot, Palata Rural Municipality-2, Larfa, on Sunday night were cremated on Tuesday afternoon on the banks of the Karnali River, following local customs.
According to Palata Rural Municipality Chairperson Bishnu Rokaya, the victims — a tractor driver from Mugu and three locals — underwent post-mortem on Monday evening at the Raduneta Health Post in Dhaulagoha. “We handed over the bodies to their families on Monday evening and conducted the cremation as per tradition the next day,” he said.

The delay in the post-mortem was due to the families’ demand for it to be conducted in the village.
Chandra Prakash Rokaya, 25, of Khatyad-5, Mugu; Amba Shahi, 26, of Palata-5; Sadu Budha, 21, of Palata-4; and Rabindra BK, 21, also of Palata-4, were among the dead in an accident.
