Search continues for two missing in Saptakoshi River
They reportedly went missing after drowning around 8:30 AM on Monday.

KATHMANDU: The search operation for two individuals who went missing in the Saptakoshi River at Barahakshetra Municipality-1 continues for the second day, according to police.
The missing individuals have been identified as Nabaraj Bastola, 40, of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-4 in Khotang, and his 16-year-old nephew Jenish Acharya of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-16.
They reportedly went missing after drowning around 8:30 AM on Monday while bathing in the river during a visit to the Barahakshetra Temple.
District Police Office spokesperson Yogaraj Khatiwada stated that rescue teams were immediately deployed after receiving the report.
Experienced divers from the Armed Police Force (APF) and Nepal Police are involved in the search operation.
“High water levels and murky conditions made yesterday’s search difficult,” said spokesperson Khatiwada. “However, the search resumed early this morning with full efforts.”
According to APF Sunsari No. 4 Battalion Chief, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nirmal Thapa, five trained divers and 11 swimmers from the Armed Police Force have been mobilized in the ongoing search mission.
