KATHMANDU: Nepal’s gold market witnessed a historic surge on Tuesday, with the price of Chhapawal gold soaring by Rs 6,900 per tola, reaching an all-time high of Rs 197,900.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price saw a significant jump from Monday’s rate of Rs 191,000 per tola.

This sharp increase has been attributed to the continued upward trend in the international gold market.

Global economic uncertainties and increasing demand have driven gold prices higher worldwide, with experts predicting that the bullish trend may continue for some time.

The ripple effect of this global rise is clearly visible in the Nepali market.

Meanwhile, the price of silver also showed a modest increase.

It rose from Rs 1,960 per tola on Monday to Rs 1,970 on Tuesday.
