KATHMANDU: One of the greatest defenders in world football, Brazilian icon Roberto Carlos, has arrived in Nepal.

The legendary former left-back landed in Kathmandu to observe the ongoing Nepal Super League (NSL) and is set to attend the second qualifier match today at Dasharath Stadium.

The much-anticipated game will see Dhangadhi FC take on Pokhara Thunders this Wednesday.

Carlos, 51, was a key member of Brazil’s 2002 FIFA World Cup-winning squad and played for the national team from 1992 to 2006, leaving a lasting legacy in international football.

His presence has brought a wave of excitement among Nepali football fans.

The NSL organizers welcomed him at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday morning.

Speaking on his arrival, Carlos expressed his happiness to be in Nepal.
