KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a man for impersonating a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and engaging in disorderly conduct at a restaurant in Pokhara Metropolitan City-8, Shrijanachowk.

According to Kaski District Police, 32-year-old Chandrakanta Paudel of Kudulephedi, Baglung Municipality-4, dined at Dhawa Restaurant & Bar on the night of April 20 and refused to pay the bill, claiming to be a high-ranking police officer.

Paudel reportedly threatened staff and behaved inappropriately, asserting his false identity in an attempt to evade payment.

Following a tip-off, a team from the Baidam Ward Police Office promptly reached the scene and took him into custody.

Kaski Police Spokesperson DSP Basanta Kumar Sharma said that Paudel is being investigated on charges of indecent behavior.

The District Administration Office has extended his custody by 10 days for further investigation.
