KATHMANDU: As the ongoing protest by teachers across Nepal gains momentum, the Nepal Teachers’ Federation has appealed for a peaceful, disciplined, and restrained movement.

The Federation emphasized that patience and discipline are crucial to make the protest meaningful and result-oriented, urging all educators to participate only in designated locations and through approved methods.

Federation President Laxmi Kishor Subedi called on teachers to act with a sense of deep responsibility, stating, “A movement is inherently a complex process. Therefore, it is essential to stay away from emotional or impulsive decisions.”

Subedi also warned against believing in market rumors or misinformation, and encouraged teachers to stay focused on the core objectives of the protest. He further motivated educators to participate with greater commitment and purpose.

According to the Federation’s schedule, the peaceful protest will continue today from 9 AM to 12 PM, as it has for the past several days.

Meanwhile, the mounting pressure from the teachers’ movement has led to the resignation of Education Minister Bidya Bhattarai.

While stepping down on Monday, she expressed her support for the teachers’ demands and stated that her resignation was a gesture of goodwill.
