Ex-Red Cross Chair Acharya commits suicide

KATHMANDU: An elderly man has died by suicide after shooting himself in the chest in Motipur, Tulsipur-7, Dang.

The deceased has been identified as approximately 80-year-old Narayan Prasad Acharya, former chairperson of the Red Cross Society, Dang chapter.

According to police, Acharya used a 12-bore gun to take his own life at his residence on Sunday afternoon.

Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
