Madhesh cabinet decisions made public

KATHMANDU: The Madhesh Province Government has appointed Kamal Upadhyay as the Chairperson of the Madhesh Media Council and Jitendra Khadka as the Chairperson of the Mass Communication Authority.

According to Rajkumar Lekhi, Minister for Home, Law, and Communications of Madhesh Province, the decision was made during the provincial cabinet meeting held on Sunday.

Both appointees have been actively involved in journalism for a long time.

Upadhyay hails from Bara, while Khadka is a resident of Saptari.

Minister Lekhi stated that these institutions will play a vital role in the reform, regulation, monitoring, and development of the media sector in Madhesh Province.
