Indian Power Minister to visit Nepal at invitation of Energy Minister Khadka
Minister Khattar is also scheduled to visit the power station and dam site of the India-funded Arun III Hydropower Project on the same day.

KATHMANDU: Indian Minister for Power, Housing, and Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, is set to arrive in Nepal on Tuesday for a two-day official visit at the invitation of Nepal’s Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Irrigation, Deepak Khadka.
Minister Khadka had extended the invitation to Minister Khattar during his official visit to India on February 12.
According to Ministry Spokesperson Sandeep Kumar Dev, the Indian minister will arrive in Nepal to further strengthen bilateral cooperation in energy and infrastructure development.
During the visit, Ministers Khattar and Khadka will jointly inaugurate key energy infrastructures built under Indian assistance, including the 220 kV Inaruwa–Basantapur–Baneshwar–Tumlingtar transmission line and three substations: the 220/133/33 kV Tumlingtar Substation, the 220/33 kV Baneshwar Substation, and the 220/133/33 kV Basantpur Substation—all part of the Koshi Corridor transmission project.
Minister Khattar is also scheduled to visit the power station and dam site of the India-funded Arun III Hydropower Project on the same day.
Additionally, both ministers will sign an agreement to initiate the construction of a new cross-border transmission line under joint investment from Nepal and India. The signing ceremony will mark the beginning of the construction process.
On April 23, Minister Khattar is also scheduled to visit the sacred site of Muktinath.
During his stay, he will pay courtesy calls on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development, Prakash Man Singh.
