KATHMANDU: Two individuals went missing in the Saptakoshi River near the Barahkshetra Temple in Barahkshetra Municipality-1, Sunsari, while bathing this morning.

In response, a team of divers from the Armed Police Force (APF) has been deployed to aid in the search operation.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Shailendra Thapa, the missing individuals have been identified as 40-year-old Nabaraj Bastola of Kepilasgadhi Rural Municipality-4, Khotang, and 16-year-old Jenish Acharya of Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-16, Sunsari.

The incident occurred around 8:30 AM.

Initially, security personnel from the APF Base Camp in Chatara were mobilized for the search.

However, after failing to locate the missing persons, an additional team—including five trained divers under the command of an Armed Police Inspector—was dispatched from the No. 1 Baraha Battalion Headquarters in Sunsari.
