Rabi Lamichhane’s writ assigned to justice Phuyal

KATHMANDU: The habeas corpus petition filed by Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has been assigned to the single bench of Supreme Court Justice Hari Prasad Phuyal.

Lamichhane filed the petition on Sunday, demanding his release from judicial custody.

He is currently in pre-trial detention in connection with a cooperative fraud case.

The petition, filed on his behalf by advocate Nikita Paudel, has been listed as the second case for hearing.

Lamichhane’s legal team is seeking his immediate release, arguing that his detention is unlawful.
