Tractor accident in Kalikot leaves four dead

KATHMANDU: Four persons died in a tractor accident in Kalikot district.

A tractor that was carrying food and groceries from Thirpu of Palanta Municipality-9 to Chhal, met with an accident last night near Budadanda, Palanta-2, according to the Kalikot district police office.

The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old tractor driver Chandra Prakash Rokaya from Mughu, Khatyad Municipality-5; 21-year-old Ravindra Bik from Palanta Municipality-4, Kalikot; 32-year-old Sadu Budha from the same location; and 26-year-old Amba Shahi from Sallikot, Palanta-5.

Office chief Tek Bahadur Rawat, confirmed that they died at the scene of the accident.

According to him, the tractor was stuck in a slope below the road.

The bodies were found about 200 meters down from the road.

As soon as the news of the accident was received, a police team under the command of Assistant Inspector Bhim Bahadur Sunar from the Thirpu area police office reached the site that night, it is informed.
