KATHMANDU: Liverpool strengthened their title bid with a 1-0 win over Leicester City on Sunday, propelled by a late goal from Trent Alexander-Arnold.

The victory saw Liverpool extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table, with 79 points from 33 matches—13 points ahead of second-place Arsenal.

Alexander-Arnold, who made a return from injury, netted the decisive goal in the 76th minute with a powerful strike.

Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota had earlier tried to break the deadlock, but it was the right-back’s effort that sealed the win.

Leicester, relegated to the 19th position with just 18 points, now faces an uphill battle to stay in the Premier League.

With Arsenal set to face Crystal Palace on Wednesday, Liverpool could secure the title if Arsenal loses.
