KATHMANDU: Teachers across Nepal have continued their protests for the 19th consecutive day, demanding the immediate enactment of the long-pending School Education Act.

Gathered at Maitighar Mandala in Kathmandu, the protesting educators have remained firm in their stance despite holding rounds of discussions with the Education Minister, the Speaker of the House, and the Prime Minister.

They have vowed not to end their agitation until the Act is officially introduced.

A participating teacher informed that the upcoming Grade 12 examinations, scheduled to begin on Baisakh 11, will likely proceed without the involvement of teachers if their demands remain unaddressed.

He expressed hope that the government will soon take necessary action to fulfill their concerns.

The protest timing, which previously ran from 11 AM to 4 PM, has been revised to 9 AM to 12 noon starting Sunday, according to the organizing committee.
