Gunfire targeted Shuddhodhan RM Chair late thursday night

KATHMANDU: Chair of Shuddhodhan Rural Municipality, Rupandehi, Kamlesh Sharan Chaudhary, was reportedly targeted in a gunfire incident at his residence late Thursday night.

According to District Police Office Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohan Mani Adhikari, the incident occurred around 11:30 PM at Chaudhary’s home in Pakadi, Ward No. 1 of Mayadevi Rural Municipality.

Chair Chaudhary informed police that the assailant fired a pistol from outside the compound wall while he was returning from the restroom during a power outage.

Fortunately, he escaped the attack uninjured.

A spent bullet casing was recovered from the scene, DSP Adhikari confirmed. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
