Weather: Widespread rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall expected across Nepal

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that current weather patterns across Nepal are being influenced by local winds, a western disturbance, and a low-pressure system active around Uttar Pradesh, India.

Due to these factors, partial to generally cloudy conditions are observed over the hilly regions, including Koshi Province.

Light to moderate rainfall with thunder and lightning is occurring in some areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

Throughout the day, all seven provinces are expected to experience partly to generally cloudy skies. Most areas may witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and rainfall.

Additionally, light snowfall is likely at a few places in the high hills and Himalayan regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces. This weather pattern is expected to continue into the night.

The department has urged the public to remain alert, as the changing weather may impact agriculture, public health, daily life, road travel, and air transportation.
