KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is visiting Bharatpur, Chitwan today to inaugurate a newly constructed six-lane road stretching from Gondrang to Pulchowk in Narayangadh Bazaar.

Accompanying the Prime Minister at the event will be Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Urban Development Prakashman Singh, along with Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal.

Security arrangements in the area have been heightened ahead of their arrival.

The 6-kilometer road section, located within Bharatpur Metropolitan City, features a four-lane main road with one service lane on each side.

The 50-meter-wide road includes a 3 to 4-meter-wide median, side drainage, and 5.5 to 6-meter-wide service lanes. Streetlights have also been installed on both sides to enhance nighttime visibility and safety.

The project was launched during Prime Minister Oli’s third tenure in office. He laid the foundation stone for the road on Magh 17, 2077 BS. Notably, Bharatpur Mayor Renu Dahal was absent during the foundation ceremony.

With a to

tal cost of Rs 1.76 billion, the road is expected to significantly improve traffic management in Narayangadh Bazaar.

Following its inauguration, residents of Chitwan will benefit from a modern, well-equipped roadway.
