KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has announced it will stage a protest on April 20 in areas declared prohibited by the government.

The decision was made during a meeting of the party’s Central Executive Committee held on Thursday.

The protest aims to demand the release of leaders and activists who were arrested during the party’s demonstration on March 28. Among the arrested were prominent leaders Rabindra Mishra and Dhawal Shumsher Rana.

The party has also decided to simultaneously advance its protest movement and organizational expansion. According to the pre-scheduled program, RPP will hold demonstrations in restricted zones on April 22.

Additionally, protests, sit-ins, and rallies will be organized in all districts on April 24.

To intensify the movement, RPP plans to form a dedicated protest coordination committee.

The party will also launch grassroots campaigns to strengthen both the movement and the organization by mobilizing leaders down to the ward level.

Party Chair Rajendra Lingden shared these decisions following the meeting.
