A joint bench of Justices Khemraj Bhatta and Narishwar Bhandari overturned the earlier verdict of the Sarlahi District Court, clearing Bomjon of all charges.
The acquittal decision was made on March 19, according to Sushil Yadav, Deputy Registrar of the Janakpur High Court.
Following the court’s ruling, Bomjan was released from Sindhupalchok prison on March 20.
Alongside Bomjon, Gyan Bahadur and Dig Bahadur Bomjan were also acquitted in the same case.
The full text of the court’s decision has already been made public.
Bomjan was arrested on Jan 9, 2024 after facing multiple allegations of rape, violence, and the disappearance of several followers from different districts.
