KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairperson Madhav Kumar Nepal has stated that his party has no intention of joining the government at the moment.

Speaking to journalists today, he emphasized that their current focus is on reaching out to the public and understanding their problems.

“We are not in the mindset to join the government immediately. Our attention is on the people, understanding their issues, and finding solutions,” Nepal said, adding that the party is prioritizing internal reform and strengthening its organization.

In response to a question on whether monarchy could make a return, Nepal dismissed the idea, saying, “The wheel of history does not turn backward.” Aimed at former King Gyanendra Shah, Nepal remarked that reviving the monarchy would be of no benefit, and added that even individuals with good intentions and plans can be effective without reviving outdated systems.

He stressed that Nepalis are fully capable of running the country, protecting its dignity, independence, and sovereignty on their own.

Addressing the ongoing concerns of teachers, Nepal urged the government to take a positive approach and resolve their demands. He called on the authorities to implement past agreements that have long been ignored.

“The matter is linked with the future of students. The government must show urgency in resolving it,” he said.
