Sharmila Waiba attacked with wrench over fnancial dispute

KATHMANDU: Sharmila Waiba, a self-proclaimed social activist, was attacked on Wednesday night in Kandaghari.

According to the Kathmandu District Police, the assault was carried out by her former colleague, Sharmila Shrestha Rai.

The two had previously lived together, but a dispute over financial matters had led to tensions between them.

The attack occurred near the Ram Mandir area, close to the yellow bridge, where Rai reportedly struck Waiba with a wrench. Waiba sustained minor injuries and is currently under medical supervision at Stupa Hospital in Boudha.

The police are actively searching for the accused, Sharmila Shrestha Rai, who fled the scene after the incident.
