JEMC sells over Rs 154 million worth of textbooks in Sudurpaschim

For the current academic session, the Center has set a target to sell 1.817 million textbooks worth approximately Rs 250 million in Sudurpaschim.

KATHMANDU: The Provincial Office of Janak Education Materials Center Limited in Dhangadhi has reported textbook sales worth Rs 154.67 million for the upcoming academic session 2082 BS in Sudurpaschim Province.

According to Rambinay Shrestha, Chief of the Center’s Dhangadhi office, a total of 1,136,417 textbooks were sold across all nine districts of the province through local book distributors between Chaitra 17 and the end of the month.

For the current academic session, the Center has set a target to sell 1.817 million textbooks worth approximately Rs 250 million in Sudurpaschim.

Distribution figures from the Center show the following textbook sales per district:

  • Bajura: 109,296 copies

  • Darchula: 95,826 copies

  • Baitadi: 142,633 copies

  • Bajhang: 108,560 copies

  • Achham: 123,116 copies

  • Doti: 115,063 copies

  • Dadeldhura: 47,764 copies

  • Kanchanpur: 147,238 copies

  • Kailali: 246,921 copies

Shrestha stated that textbooks have reached most of the hilly districts, with only a few remote areas still awaiting delivery.

“We prioritized early distribution in the hill districts. Remaining areas in Kailali and Kanchanpur are currently receiving textbooks. All students will receive their books in time with the ongoing enrollment campaign,” he assured.

Last academic session (2081 BS), the Center had sold textbooks worth Rs 225.7 million in the province.
