KATHMANDU: A Sita Air flight en route from Ramechhap to Lukla was forced to make an emergency landing at Tribhuvan International Airport on Tuesday after a technical issue was detected mid-air.

According to airport sources, the aircraft experienced a problem in its hydraulic system, prompting the decision to divert the flight back to Kathmandu for safety reasons.

The aircraft, carrying 14 passengers, remained on the runway for a brief period after landing, causing temporary suspension of other flight operations.

Normal flight operations resumed after the plane was safely removed from the runway.

Airport authorities confirmed that a technical inspection of the aircraft is currently underway.
