Light rain & snow expected in hilly areas

KATHMANDU: The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that local wind patterns are currently influencing the weather across the country.

As a result, skies remain partly to generally cloudy in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki provinces and other hilly regions.

According to the department, light rainfall with thunder is occurring in some hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces.

Daytime Forecast:

Partly to generally cloudy conditions will prevail in the hilly regions.

There is a chance of light rain with thunder at a few places in the hills and at one or two spots in the rest of the country.

Light snowfall may occur at a few places in the high hills and Himalayan regions.

Nighttime Forecast:

Partial to moderate cloud cover is expected in most hilly areas, including Koshi Province.

Other regions will likely remain mostly clear.

There is still a possibility of light rain with thunder and light snowfall at one or two places in the high hilly areas of Koshi, Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The department has urged the public to stay alert and take necessary precautions, as such weather conditions may affect daily life, agriculture, health, roadways, and air travel.
