KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Tuesday morning held an hour-long meeting with Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba at the official residence in Baluwatar.

The meeting comes at a time when political temperatures have risen following CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s unexpected move of offering the premiership to Deuba.

Dahal’s gesture has stirred significant speculation in the political arena, adding to the already tense atmosphere within the ruling coalition.

Although the exact details of the discussion between PM Oli and President Deuba have not been disclosed, the Prime Minister’s Secretariat described it as a “regular meeting” between the two leaders.

The timing of the meeting, however, has drawn considerable attention in political circles, with analysts viewing it as a strategic response to recent developments within the alliance.
