Nepal Teachers’ Federation withdraws from all educational activities
This decision is part of an ongoing protest movement aimed at ensuring quality education and proper educational management.

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Teachers’ Federation has announced its withdrawal from all educational activities, including the upcoming Grade 12 board examinations, in a move that is expected to significantly impact the country’s academic calendar.
In an official statement, the Federation has called on all headteachers, teachers, and educational staff not to participate in any capacity—such as exam center heads or inspectors—in the Grade 12 examinations scheduled to begin on Baisakh 11.
The Federation has issued a clear directive for its members to refrain from participating in answer sheet evaluation, result publication, entrance examinations, student enrollment, training programs, seminars, educational tours, and any other academic engagements.
This decision is part of an ongoing protest movement aimed at ensuring quality education and proper educational management.
To strengthen the movement, the Federation has appealed for support and cooperation from students, parents, school management committees, local governments, rural municipalities, and municipalities.
Since Chaitra 20, the Federation has been organizing educational street protests in Kathmandu. On Chaitra 25, it escalated the movement by initiating a general educational strike.
Now, the Federation has declared an indefinite closure of all schools across the country and has urged all teachers and educational staff to mandatorily participate in the Kathmandu protests.
