Two killed in excavator overturn

KATHMANDU: Two people lost their lives in an excavator accident in Lothi, Ward No. 2 of Chankheli Rural Municipality, Humla.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Shankar Pokharel, Chief of the District Police Office Humla, the deceased have been identified as Parbal Kami, 45, and Arjun Kami, 31, both residents of Chankheli-2.

The excavator involved in the incident is owned by Nandalal Baduwal of Chhayanath Municipality-14 in neighboring Mugu district. The accident occurred late last night.

The driver of the excavator sustained only minor injuries and is currently in police custody for investigation, officials said.

Further details regarding the cause of the accident are under investigation.
