Newcastle thrash Manchester United 4-1 to reclaim top four spot in Premier League
Sandro Tonali opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a stunning volley, expertly finishing off an incisive pass from Alexander Isak.

KATHMANDU: Newcastle United delivered a commanding 4-1 victory over Manchester United at St. James’ Park, climbing back into the Premier League’s top four.
Sandro Tonali opened the scoring in the 24th minute with a stunning volley, expertly finishing off an incisive pass from Alexander Isak.
However, Manchester United responded in the 37th minute through Alejandro Garnacho, who slotted home an equalizer. It was only his second goal in his last 29 appearances.
Newcastle wasted no time regaining the lead after the break. Just four minutes into the second half, Harvey Barnes struck from close range following a smart assist from Jacob Murphy.
Barnes added another in the 64th minute — his eighth league goal of the season — as substitute goalkeeper Altay Bayındır, replacing André Onana, failed to keep it out.
Bruno Guimarães sealed the win with a composed finish in the 77th minute, leaving Manchester United outclassed and helpless.
After 31 matches, Newcastle now sit fourth with 56 points, leapfrogging Manchester City, who are one point behind and have played one more game. Manchester United, meanwhile, have slumped to 14th place in the table.
Liverpool Edge Closer to Premier League Title After Late Win Over West Ham
Liverpool took another big step toward the Premier League title with a dramatic 2-1 win over league leaders West Ham United, thanks to a late header from captain Virgil van Dijk.
Mohamed Salah, who signed a new two-year deal with the Reds earlier this week, played a sublime pass to set up Luis Díaz for the opening goal in the 18th minute.
However, the Reds struggled to maintain their dominance, and Andy Robertson’s own goal in the 86th minute brought West Ham level.
Just two minutes later, van Dijk rose highest from a corner to power home a decisive header, securing all three points for Liverpool.
With just six matches remaining, Liverpool now lead Arsenal by 13 points. If Arsenal lose to Ipswich next week and Liverpool defeat Leicester, the Merseyside club will clinch the Premier League title.
