KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation stone for the Gauradaha Municipality Hospital in Jhapa today. The ceremony took place at Chautu Chok in Ward No. 1 of the municipality.
During the event, Prime Minister Oli emphasized that the new hospital will not only serve the local residents but also provide healthcare services to people from neighboring India.
He further stated that the hospital will expand its services based on local needs, adding that the government is actively working to provide essential services across all sectors through the use of information and technology.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to national development through constructive work, the Prime Minister urged young people to engage in professionalism and employment within Nepal.
The hospital will be constructed at a cost of Rs 12.59 crore in two bighas of land.
The project is being undertaken by J & J Construction Services and is expected to be completed by mid-Maghi of 2083.
The construction agreement was finalized today.
In 2075, during the Prime Minister’s previous tenure, he had announced the establishment of a 15-bed basic hospital in every local level, but delays in land acquisition had delayed the start of the construction in Gauradaha.
The ceremony was also attended by Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Devendra Dahal, and Chief Minister of Province 1, Hikmat Kumar Karki.
