KATHMANDU: The Chair of the CPN (Maoist Centre), Pushpa Kamal Dahal, also known as Prachanda, has signaled the possibility of a new government formation with the arrival of the new year.

Speaking with journalists in Chitwan, he indicated that recent developments and political experiences have led him to foresee such a change.

According to Prachanda, the current political situation does not appear sustainable in the long term. “The situation is not so simple that the current government can continue for much longer,” he stated. “I hope the new year will bring some solutions.”

He claimed that public dissatisfaction with the government is rising, adding, “The political parties in the government themselves are on the verge of taking to the streets.”

Earlier, in a television interview, Prachanda hinted at the possibility of a new government led by the Nepali Congress.

He expressed confidence that a government formed under the leadership of a major party would be in the best interest of the nation.
