KATHMANDU: The teaser for the upcoming Nepali film Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Deependra K. Khanal, has officially been released.

Featuring lead actor Khagendra Lamichhane along with other prominent cast members, the teaser offers a glimpse into a socially conscious narrative rooted in the struggles of everyday Nepalis.

The teaser highlights the challenges faced by lower-income families in Nepal, particularly those who migrate to Kathmandu from rural areas in search of a better life.

It portrays emotionally resonant moments, such as individuals sharing their personal sorrows to lighten the burden on their hearts, a common coping mechanism among the working class.

Through the story of two sorrowful characters who find solace in each other near the banks of Pashupati, the teaser strongly suggests that the film will delve into poignant social themes. It touches upon family love, separation, and the emotional toll it takes on individuals.

A powerful message is conveyed through the line that the Earth is like a rented room where everyone is paying rent—making the idea of ownership meaningless. This philosophical undertone hints at the depth and seriousness of the film’s narrative.

Prior to the teaser release, the production team had also unveiled three posters last Thursday, each spotlighting the main characters.

Scheduled for release on Jestha 2 (May 15, 2025), Ke Ghar Ke Dera: Ghar No. 2 stars Khagendra Lamichhane alongside Nischal Basnet, Upasana Singh Thakuri, Aryan Sigdel, Keki Adhikari, Prakash Ghimire, Srijana Napit, Sanjog Rasaili, Rubina Ghimire, and Suraj Bisht, among others.

The film is presented by Apple Entertainment, A Plus Entertainment, and Natraj Creation. The story has been penned by renowned author Buddhi Sagar, known for literary hits like Karnali Blues, Eklo, and Phirphire. This marks his debut as a screenwriter.

Cinematography is handled by Krishna Bahadur Thapa. The producers include Nakim Uddin, Sharad Shrestha, and Kiran Maharjan, with Yuvraj Karki serving as the executive producer.
