Foreigners to seek employment in Nepal in future: FM Paudel
Minister Paudel emphasized that the government is focused on generating employment opportunities within the country and creating conditions where Nepali citizens can happily stay and work in their own homeland.

KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel has said that the government is working towards creating an environment where even foreign nationals will come to Nepal in search of employment opportunities.
Speaking at the 30th and 31st Annual General Assembly of the Nepal Association of Foreign Employment Agencies (NAFEA) on Friday, Minister Paudel emphasized that the government is focused on generating employment opportunities within the country and creating conditions where Nepali citizens can happily stay and work in their own homeland.
He noted that currently, a large number of Nepalis are migrating abroad for employment, but the government’s long-term mission is to transform Nepal’s labor market in such a way that it attracts foreign workers as well.
Minister Paudel further added that many Nepalis who return from abroad bring with them valuable skills and experiences.
These returnees are now contributing to national development by utilizing their capital and expertise.
“Since we are in the pre-budget phase, it may not be appropriate for me as Finance Minister to make detailed announcements. However, the Labor Minister will articulate the government’s stance on labor issues,” said Paudel. “We are committed to dignifying the foreign employment sector and ensuring that institutions and individuals involved in this sector operate respectfully. The government will always support your efforts.”
He also stressed the need to ensure that Nepalis working abroad can do so in a dignified, safe, and secure manner, and that they are able to return home without complications.
“The aim is not only to create jobs for Nepalis within the country,” he said, “but also to build a labor market strong enough to attract foreign workers in the future.”
