Durga Prasai’s bodyguard Khadka also arrested

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Police have arrested Durga Prasai, the key accused in the recent Tinkune incident, along with his personal bodyguard Deepak Khadka.
Khadka was apprehended from the Bhadrapur area of Jhapa district.
According to Nepal Police, preparations are underway to bring both individuals to Kathmandu for further investigation. Prasai, who had been on the run, was taken into custody with the assistance of Indian authorities.
Although there is no formal extradition treaty between Nepal and India, coordination between the two sides led to his handover.
On Thursday, Indian police in Assam were unable to immediately transfer him to Nepal, but on Friday, he was taken into control through the Jhapa border following diplomatic arrangements.
Durga Prasai was the chief coordinator—or “commander”—of a pro-monarchy demonstration held in Tripureshwor on March 28 (Chaitra 15).
Police have claimed that there is substantial evidence indicating Prasai’s involvement in the incident. He faces charges related to organized crime and offenses against the state.
