Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos to visit Nepal next week
In addition to attending the NSL match, Carlos is expected to take part in various other events during his short stay in Nepal.

KATHMANDU: Legendary Brazilian footballer Roberto Carlos is set to visit Nepal next week on a two-day tour, confirmed Nepal Sports and Events Management (NSEM) through a press release on Thursday.
Carlos will arrive in Kathmandu on April 18 (Baisakh 5) and will attend Qualifier 1 of the ongoing Ncell Nepal Super League (NSL) as the chief guest on April 19 (Baisakh 6) at the Dasharath Stadium.
In addition to attending the NSL match, Carlos is expected to take part in various other events during his short stay in Nepal.
The detailed itinerary of his visit will be announced soon by the organizers.
“We are honored to welcome one of the greatest legends in world football to Nepal,” said Shreyans Karki, Managing Director of NSEM. “His presence will elevate the prestige of the league and serve as an inspiration for the entire Nepali football community.”
Regarded as one of the finest left-backs in football history, Roberto Carlos was part of the Brazilian squad that won the 2002 FIFA World Cup.
He made his international debut for Brazil in 1992, and went on to represent his country in three World Cups – in 1998, 2002, and 2006.
Carlos is widely celebrated for his powerful long-range free kicks and attacking style of play.
He earned 125 caps for Brazil, scoring 11 goals during his international career.
At the club level, he had a remarkable stint with Real Madrid from 1996 to 2007, playing over 500 matches.
During his time with the Spanish giants, he won three UEFA Champions League titles and four La Liga championships.
Carlos’s visit is expected to be a major highlight for Nepali football fans, offering a rare opportunity to witness a global football icon up close.
