KATHMANDU: Dr. Prakash Chandra Lohani, a prominent leader of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), has emphasized the significant challenge of achieving political balance in Nepal.

Speaking at an event organized by the Royal Institution Restoration People’s Movement Committee in Kathmandu on Wednesday, Lohani expressed concerns over the current political instability both in Nepal and globally.

He criticized the state for suppressing peaceful protests and for arbitrary arrests, accusing the government of employing harsh tactics against its own citizens.

Lohani warned that the party would not remain silent in the face of state oppression, stating that the struggle could take either peaceful or violent forms.

Drawing from historical examples, he referenced the story of Lord Ram, who, despite trying numerous peaceful approaches, resorted to force to end Ravana’s tyranny, symbolizing the potential for escalation in the party’s ongoing movement, which, according to him, will not stop until it achieves success.

Lohani also asserted that the restoration of the monarchy is essential for the psychological security of the Nepali people.

He argued that the monarchy has historically been a unifying force for the people of Nepal and, therefore, the restoration of a constitutional monarchy is crucial to preserving the nation’s traditions and securing its future.
