Tinkune incident: Ani Kunwar denies knowing mystery person in video
The incident occurred on the 15th of Chait (March 28) during a pro-monarchy protest when a fire broke out at a house in the Tinkune area.

KATHMANDU: Former journalist Ani Kunwar has stated that she does not know the identity of the person seen in a video descending with her while covering their faces during a fire incident.
According to sources, when the police questioned her about the individual in the video who was seen descending with her, she replied that she had no knowledge of them.
The incident occurred on the 15th of Chait (March 28) during a pro-monarchy protest when a fire broke out at a house in the Tinkune area.
In the aftermath of the fire, Avenue News camera person Suresh Rajak tragically died due to burns.
During the investigation of the incident, Ani Kunwar was arrested on Monday.
She told the police that she had entered the house for journalistic purposes and clarified that the fire had not started when she entered the house.
According to her, the mob had already set the house on fire before she entered the premises.
Kunwar further stated that she was alone when she entered the house, and that camera person Suresh Rajak was not with her at that time.
She also mentioned that the door of the house, where Rajak was recording, had already been locked, and she had no prior knowledge of his presence there.
Regarding the video, she denied knowing the person seen descending from the house with her, who was covering their face.
She mentioned that the person filming the video while they were descending was wearing a helmet.
